Dear NC-CCIM Chapter Members,

As we look back on 2023 and forward to 2024, there are many things to be excited about! In 2023, we had many successes. Attendance across the state at various networking events and education classes were up and membership continues to increase. We were also able to hold our inaugural NC-CCIM Golf Tournament in Pinehurst raising over $10,000 for a great charity, BackPack Pals and we instituted the NC-CCIM Mentorship Program with great success. As an organization, we are feeling like there are only better things to come.

So, what’s going on in 2024? Well, when I was working to become a CCIM designee, I learned that the three key mantras of The CCIM Institute are Networking, Education, and Technology, to further our network and business. This year we plan to continue to focus on these three areas and more importantly be an organization that serves you, its members

Networking 

There will be a lot of great networking events this year in multiple markets. We are excited to announce that we are hosting Market Forecasts in both Charlotte and Raleigh, a first in many years with a panel discussion from market leaders of various expertise within their respective markets.

We are hosting our 2nd annual NC-CCIM Golf Tournament in Pinehurst at Pinewild Country Club with co-host former NBA Star Rasheed Wallace. Proceeds will again go to a charity cause and will be held on April 29th with a charity auction the night before.

Our State Conference this year will be at the Grandover Resort in Greensboro, NC September 12-13th and will be another exciting event with golf, resort spa, networking, and great speakers as part of the program.

Education

The NC-CCIM Chapter prides itself on being able to offer all four core courses to obtain the CCIM designation. My gratitude to Andre Collins, CCIM for taking over the reins to keep CCIM education a priority for our Chapter. We were able to host a joint class with the UNC Charlotte Master’s Program and plan to do so again in 2024 as well as looking to expand our partnerships with other universities. We will continue to assist candidates who are seeking to gain their designation and hope to see a large class of new designees from NC in 2024 in either Nashville or Houston. We will also be hosting our complimentary continuing education to all Members again later this year thanks to our amazing Cindy Chandler, CCIM.

Technology

Technology is always evolving as we saw at our 2023 State Conference with a fantastic presentation regarding AI and sales; it’s simply something we will all have to use our best efforts to keep up with. As CCIM Designees we have a relentless number of tools available to us, but we can always improve with our knowledge of these resources. We plan to host some additional opportunities for our members this year to learn more about these resources.

I am grateful to have the opportunity to lead our chapter in 2023 with the help of our executive committee, board members and volunteers and look forward to serving this outstanding organization.

Incoming CCIM Institute Global President

We are lucky to have such a strong chapter that we will have our 2^nd CCIM Institute Global President in 2025 to be inaugurated this year in Houston at The CCIM Institute Annual Governance Meetings. Steve Rich, CCIM will be inaugurated in October of this year and as a friend and colleague I could not be more excited about his leadership and representation of the chapter on a global organization scale.

We have an incredible staff who keeps things moving forward and always have amazing ideas with all of the programs and events that we do throughout the year. I am also grateful to the Executive Board members for their leadership and the remainder of the Board of Directors for their selfless time commitment to our chapter. We are also grateful for our Power Partners; without your support we could not do what we do.

Thank you to all of our NC-CCIM Chapter members as well, please don’t hesitate to reach out to me if there is anything I can do to help you or help answer any questions. I encourage all of you to be as involved as you can as I’ve always found the more you put into something, the more you get out of it. We always welcome anyone that would like to get even more involved with the chapter with various committees throughout the year to please do so, it takes a village.

In closing, I would like to just say that I would humbled if I can come close to doing as good of a job as many of my talented predecessors have done in the past. I am excited and honored to serve as your 2024 NC-CCIM Chapter President!
